Mental Health | RWE Study in Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)

We successfully completed a pilot project in mental health in collaboration with Obasi, and supported by Johnson & Johnson.

Our mission? To empower psychiatric hospitals to unlock the full potential of their clinical data, leveraging LynxCare's NLP-AI technology. By transforming this data into actionable insights, we're shedding light on the full patient journey, from treatment patterns to disease progression and outcomes. This innovative approach paves the way for significant advances in both treatment and medical research in mental health.

Mental health data collected in psychiatric centers and hospitals holds immense potential to advance research and improve patient care. By providing insights into treatment patterns, adverse events, and patient outcomes, these data can help optimize therapies and enhance long-term patient management. However, a significant challenge remains: currently, only 20% of health data is usable for research, while the rest is locked in siloed databases and/or unstructured formats such as narrative text.

LynxCare aims to bridge this gap by leveraging targeted, disease-specific Natural Language Processing (NLP) technology. By unlocking both structured and unstructured hospital data, LynxCare enables the creation of a centralized clinical OMOP-CDM data warehouse. This approach ensures that hospitals retain full control over their data while facilitating both primary and secondary use of the information.

Driving Research & Innovation in Mental Health

The field of mental health treatment is continuously evolving, with a broad landscape of available medications and ongoing research efforts. Challenges persist in determining drug efficacy, managing side effects, and personalizing treatments. Given that mental health treatments often span several years, longitudinal studies using comprehensive databases can provide critical insights into the long-term effects of medications.

Through collaboration with hospitals and research partners, LynxCare supports data-driven innovation by enabling hospitals to:

  • Participate in national and international RWE studies (with guaranteed Return-On-Investment) including EHDEN studies
  • Contribute to (multi-center) investigator-initiated studies and publciations
  • Own an internationally validated research-grade data warehouse (OMOP-CDM)
  • Identify patients for clinical trials and assess their feasibility.
  • Receive feedback on the data quality of your hospital’s database
  • Visualize data through a template LynxCare dashboard or build your own dashboard

By breaking down data silos and enabling evidence-based decision-making, LynxCare empowers hospitals to enhance psychiatric care, support groundbreaking research, and ultimately improve outcomes for mental health patients.
